Tired?

Roger: "I don't understand why I'm so tired all the time"
Pat: "You just finished a 6 week cancer treatment 3 weeks ago that takes at least 6 weeks to recover from and then you just had cataract surgery 3 days ago that takes a couple of weeks to recover from. So what I don't understand is why you don't understand why you're so tired. That's all I'm going to say about it."
Roger: "yea, I guess"

Bone scan showed couple of spots of cancer on chest, and lower back. Will have another bone scan in 3 months. Roger will be getting a monthly shot of bone strengthening stuff. Got a flu shot today, too. he says he feels like a pin cushion. Visit today was neither good or bad. It is what it is. We know, at least, where it is on the bones and hoping the provenge treatment will decrease the lesions. Picked up a couple of new drugs today. No visits to see oncologist until Dec. after next bone scan. So, we wait.

Cataract removed!

Cataract surgery went well. Doctor called here at the house around 6 pm. Post op tomorrow morning. Oncologist visit Friday

October something

Tough day, early morning lab work & bone scan (CT &PET) Roger very tired, looking pale. At HOG from 8:20 - 11:00. We did get lunch at Steak & Shake. Thought about Red Lobster but the thought of seafood made Roger nauseous. And the thought of any food made me sick.

Roger just doesn't want to talk about it any of it.
Says we don't need any help.

Crappie for supper tonight and last night, fresh out of the lake! Roger, his son Brain, and Brian's Friend, Jim have been out fishing (even in the rain) the past 2 days. Roger is just having the time of his life with those two

There Today!

We were actually at the surgeon's office today and the catheter is OUT!  Simple procedure, just a local anesthetic, and Roger says he didn't really feel the sting of the needle even.  (took hydrocodone & Valium before we left the house, I think it helped).  The doctor let me watch, it was pretty nifty, and she let me take a few pictures. It was just fun!  Roger is happy!  He was even flirting with the surgeon.
Roger is still fatigued from last infusion.  Bone scan and lab work on Oct. 16.  Oncologist visit Oct.23

Not there again

We were not there at the surgeon's office again.
Roger forgot to NOT take his plavix on Saturday, and he needs to be off plavix for 4 days.  Surgeon didn't want to take a chance on him bleeding.
So we were not there again.
New appointment scheduled for Wednesday.
